This is a 1/144 scale model of the Submarine U-boot type XXI U 2540 and Interior - Revell 05078. By the beginning of 1945, Germany had the world's most sophisticated submarine, the Type XXI. Owing to many technological advances, it was able to operate underwater continually, as the diesel engines pulled the fresh air they needed through a special snorkel. The design improvements plus triple the battery capacity, provided an unheard-of underwater speed of 17 knots.
