My fiancé and I left in the past the car key in the cupholder. Unfortunately it makes noise and looks ugly. She stores her garage remote there as well. To get rid of it I designed a place to leave the key of our cars in the cupholder. It fits and was tested in BMW 1series (e.g. F40) and 3series (e.g. G20, G21) but shall fit in every BMW or car (you can reply to me where you tested the cupholder successfully as well). The slot for the key is designed for the actual key design by BMW (as you can see in the pictures). The other slot can store whatever you want. Lighter, key for your home, USB drive, credit cars, parking tickets and so on.
